Eagle Rock Bassmasters
March 2006 Newsletter
The minutes from the February meeting were approved.
Treasurer: Warren reported on the bank account status. The audit that was supposed to be done prior to this meeting had to be postponed due to some personal issues with a couple of the people involved with the audit, we hope to have it completed by the April meeting.
Conservation: Fish and game have called and were wondering if we still planned to put in the spawning beds at mud lake, Cookie reported that he had talked to some guys that went to mud lake with an under water camera and all they saw was dead fish. After discussion of the issue a motion was made and passed to proceed with the spawning beds in the next couple of weekends.
Youth: A recommendation was made to hold the casting for kids at either the Zoo or Sportsman’s Warehouse. After discussion a motion was made to hold it at Sportsman’s Warehouse – date to be determined.
Tournament Committee: Brant reported that he has been in contact with Sharon (permit lady) and they are in the process of developing a survey – if you have any suggestions for questions on the survey please get in touch with Brant. Cookie reported that there is a complete list of the tournaments on all the Idaho bodies of water on the web site. June 4th is the first TBF tournament at Walcott – which is also a tournament for us at American Falls – The Blackfoot club has agreed to let us piggyback with them on June 11th so those members that want to fish the FLW can – think about this and we will be voting on the outcome at the next meeting. Cookie reported on the meeting that was held in Boise – out of the 15 clubs represented, 10 clubs voted to go FLW and 5 clubs have stayed with BASS.
Old Business: Corey has agreed to head up the Special Events Committee with Tracy, Josh and Warren. Congratulations to Josh who has agreed to step into the Tournament committee vacancy.
New Business: Awards for the 2006 season will be based on participation at 1 in 5 (just like the tournaments) – a motion was made and passed. An idea was presented to help increase participation and fishing drive throughout the season it is called the ERBM Classic, this will be an end of the year tournament in which club members can earn an invitation (seat) to participate in the tournament. The number of seats for the 2006 classic will be equal to the number of qualifying tournaments plus one. The winner will be crowned the ERBM Classic Champion and an award will be presented at the annual banquet. Read all about it on the web site, and then attend the next meeting for further discussion and a vote.
Congratulations to Warren and Dixie as they are expecting a new bundle in September.
Congratulations to Trina on her new job – WAY TO GO!
We want to wish Bryce and Tina Slavik the best of luck as they are moving to Boise – we will miss you.
