February 2006 Newsletter
Well, can you believe it only 73 days until our first tournament? I know it sounds like a long way off, but it will be here before you know it.
The minutes from the January meeting were approved.
Treasurer: Warren reported on the bank account status, he also reported that a $200.00 profit was made from the banquet. A motion was made and unanimously voted on to perform an audit of the books before the next meeting the auditors will consist of 3 officers and one volunteer: Warren, Brant, Jeff C. and Corey Mitchell (Thanks for volunteering Corey).
Conservation: Eddie reported that he has met with the Fish & Game regarding the fish tagging from last year; he has received a print out of where the bass have been “hanging out” and their patterns. Eddie was asked to check with Fish & Game to see if the rumors are true about going through regional directors for permits for next year rather then the specific individual we have been dealing with. We have received the permit to put in the spawning beds at Mud Lake.
Youth: The “Casting for kids” stuff has been ordered from B.A.S.S. – we will be doing the weekend that the boat show is at John’s Hole Bridge – Jeff C. will find out the specific dates.
Tournament Committee: Jeff G. has resigned from the tournament committee, so we are looking for nominations to fill the void with a vote at the next meeting. Looks like have a conflict in the June 4th tournament at American Falls with one of the federation qualifiers. The Blackfoot club will allow us to share their permit on June 11th at American Falls. We will take a vote on this next month.
Old Business: I want to THANK everyone who attended the banquet. If you haven’t paid your dues yet – it’s time!! The Snake River Banquet is Saturday February 11th, at the Blackfoot Elk’s Lodge, 6:00 pm social hour and dinner at 7:00pm, the cost is $20.00 a person.
New Business: Darren (Sportsman’s Warehouse) handed out a request form, asking everyone to make a “wish list” of items they would like to see in stock. He has marked a lot of items on clearance so as to clear out some space for these items (go check out the store – it might be something you use), he can’t promise that everything we want will be stocked, but he will do his best. The form needs to be returned to Darren as soon as possible, names on the form are optional. A motion was made and voted on unanimously to hold a “special event” as discussed in last month’s news letter – we are looking for volunteers to form a committee. A question was raised as to do we need a committee to start working on the open? We will discuss and vote on this at the next meeting. A motion was made and unanimously voted on – after much discussion that the club would remain with B.A.S.S. and not join the FLW for the present time.
