August 2006 Newsletter
The July meeting minutes were approved.
Treasurer: Warren reported that the audit of the books was completed. The checking account has $938.43 and the savings has $5744.45.
Conservation: The signs for Gifford springs have not been posted as of yet but will be soon.
Youth: Need to obtain the dates for the B.A.S.S. Cast for kids event and notify Jeffrey Gibson and see if he is able to attend.
Tournament: The 3 man event is this weekend at Ririe, the weigh in will be at 1:00pm, there was discussion regarding entry fees, payout for the smallest fish, or biggest perch and a vote will be held Saturday before launch time by those who attend.
Dont Forget: BBQ at the Cooke house following the tournament you dont have to fish to attend this is a social event for the club, please bring a dish to pass and your own beverages.
Federation: The next FLW Federation tournament is at Massacre Rocks on August 12, with a Blackfoot tournament on the 13th.
Old Business: Chris has obtained a waiver regarding the insurance issue check your e-mails we will discuss at the September meeting, and put out the 30day notice change, as stated in the by-laws at the October meeting and hold a vote at the November meeting.
New Business: The OPEN is fast approaching it was voted in to have the $5.00 raffle open to anyone and the winner need not be present tickets are available to sell or purchase contact Jeff C. The prize is a G-Loomis rod and reel combo, valued at approximately $250.00. It was voted on to wait and see how the donations look at the next meeting before we agree on the clubs contribution for prizes. This year we have added an additional fee to the entrance fee a mandatory $10.00 fee that will be donated to a local charity bring your charity ideas to the September meeting for a vote. A motion was made to change from plagues to jackets or shirts or whatever bring your ideas to the September meeting and we will discuss and vote.
A motion was made to take some of the money from the savings account and put it into a CD or something to help build up the clubs assets discussion and vote at the next meeting. There will be an open discussion at the next meeting regarding the tournament schedule for next year some items brought up were dropping the CJ tournament (due to cost), having a 2 day at twin lakes, team tournys etc. so bring your wants and wishes to the September meeting.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
