April 2006 Newsletter

We want to extend a big Thank You to our visitors that attended the meeting: Jo from Fish & Game and Skip and Todd from Smith’s RV.

Jo gave us a report on the “Idaho Wildlife Volunteer Program” that the fish and game have. They are looking for volunteers to assist in all areas (not just fishing) that the fish and game represent i.e. habitat improvement, trap and collaring of deer, stream and bank improvement etc. She also reported on a program called “wild life champions” this is where they take ideas from the public and after consideration and research they make a determination as to pursue the idea.

Todd reported that he is the new dealer in town for Legend boats, and he is working on an “open” type event where a legend boat will be the prize, there needs to be 80-100 boats in attendance. See the web page for more details.

The minutes from the March meeting were approved.

Treasurer: Warren reported on the bank account status. The audit is still pending at this time.

Conservation: A big THANK YOU goes out to Corey, Tracy, Brant and the boy scouts for putting in 16 spawning beds at Mud Lake the weekend of March 24th. A motion was made to transfer our conservation effort to Gem Lake instead of Mud Lake, due to the fact that we have no control over the water issues at Mud Lake and it seems to be a lost cause. Think about ideas over the next month to present at the May meeting. Jeff C. has sent an e-mail to obtain signs to be placed at Gifford Springs.

Youth: Cast for kids will be held at Sportsman’s Warehouse – date to be set.

Tournament: It was decided to leave the June 4th tournament as is.

Federation: Nominations for officers for the Federation Nation need to be submitted to Jeff C. or Gary Keith A.S.A.P.

New Business: There has been lots of positive feed back on the “ERBM Classic” a motion was made and approved to proceed with the event. A motion was made and approved to change the yearly awards to: Sportsman of the year, Pro angler, Amateur angler, Lady angler and Classic winner. The will also be certain criteria established for selection of sportsman of the year.

There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.

DON’T FORGET – C.J. STRIKE TOURNAMENT SATURDAY MARCH 22 AND SUNDAY, MARCH 23 HOPE TO SEE EVERYBODY THERE!!!!
